Gate 6: How To Design and Build Your Product

Gate Overview

Gate 6 marks the transition from planning to building. After understanding your customer and testing your assumptions, it’s time to turn insights into action. In this stage, you will design and create a minimum version of your product or service that solves a real problem, delivers value, and generates meaningful feedback. Whether you’re building an app, launching a local service, or creating a new physical product, this gate helps you learn by doing—without wasting time, money, or effort on the wrong things.

Gate Structure

The Gate is divided into several Keys ( Themes), each focusing on a specific aspect of entrepreneurship. Each Key includes readings, discussions, practical assignments, and business-related deliverables.

Themes you will cover

To achieve this, you’ll explore the following four essential keys:

Key 1 : Identify Key Assumptions

Key 2 : Test your Key Assumptions

Key 3 : Design your Minimum Valuable Product ( MVP)

Key 4: Build Your MVP

Your New Venture After this Gate

Your New Venture After This Gate

By completing the first five gates of the Entreprenerds 10-Gate Program, you’ve built a strong foundation for turning your idea into a real, customer-focused venture. You’ve developed a clear business idea, identified your ideal customer, shaped your value proposition, outlined how you’ll reach and convert users, and designed a business model that can generate sustainable revenue.

Now, in Gate 6, you move from planning to real-world action. This is where you begin building your product or service—not just as an idea, but as something real that users can experience, respond to, and pay for.

What You’ve Already Achieved (Gates 1–5)

Defined a meaningful problem and designed a compelling solution (Gate 1–3)

Identified your ideal users and how to reach them (Gate 2 & 4)

Mapped the customer journey and built a strong value proposition (Gate 3)

Developed your business model, pricing strategy, and understood your unit economics (Gate 5)

What Gate 6 Adds

In this gate, you’ll turn all that thinking into doing. You’ll:

  • Identify the riskiest assumptions your venture still depends on—and test them with real users

  • Design a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that focuses only on what matters most

  • Build and deliver that MVP using simple, low-cost methods

  • Collect feedback, observe behavior, and learn what works—and what doesn’t

By the End of Gate 6, You Will Have:

✔ A functional version of your product or service that solves a real problem

✔ Evidence that users understand, want, and engage with what you’ve built

✔ Insights from real-world behavior—not just surveys or interviews

✔ Your first test of whether users are willing to pay or commit

✔ A feedback loop to guide your next steps—whether improving, pivoting, or scaling

Gate 6 complements everything you’ve done so far by giving you proof, not just plans. It’s your first step into the market—not to grow fast, but to learn fast
